Rexplorer (“the extension”) enhances Reddit browsing by providing a media gallery experience for Reddit pages. Protecting your privacy is important, and this policy explains what the extension does and does not do with data.
Rexplorer does not sell or share personal information, and it does not run analytics/telemetry.
Rexplorer does not:
Track your general browsing history
Record keystrokes
Collect or transmit the content of your Reddit messages
Collect location data
Use third-party ads, trackers, or analytics SDKs
Rexplorer needs to load Reddit media posts into its gallery. To do that, it makes requests to Reddit endpoints such as:
Reddit listing JSON for the page you are browsing (e.g., reddit.com/.../.json)
reddit.com/api/v1/me (when available) to determine the currently logged-in Reddit username only to separate local favorites/hidden lists per Reddit account
This username is used locally as a profile identifier (for example, u:username) so different Reddit accounts on the same browser can have separate favorites/hidden lists.
Rexplorer stores some data locally in your browser (for example, using extension storage / localStorage):
Favorites
Hidden posts
Extension settings (layout, filters, sorting, view mode, lightbox preferences)
A local profile identifier derived from your Reddit username (when available)
This data stays on your device and is not automatically uploaded by Rexplorer.
Rexplorer can open links in new tabs (for example, “Open Post,” subreddit, profile links) and may display embedded third-party video players when Reddit provides an embed URL (e.g., YouTube/Redgifs/Streamable). Those third-party sites may collect data under their own policies when you interact with them.
If you enter a Pro/Founder license key, Rexplorer performs license validation by sending your key to an Rexplorer service endpoint over HTTPS.
The extension does not send your Reddit browsing history or Reddit content as part of license validation.
Like any standard web request, the license server may receive basic request metadata (such as IP address and user agent) as part of normal operation and security.
Rexplorer is designed to minimize data exposure:
License validation requests (if used) are encrypted with HTTPS
Reddit credentials are not read or stored by Rexplorer
Favorites/hidden/settings remain in the browser’s local storage sandbox
If a security issue is reported, we will investigate and release an update as appropriate.
If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted with a revised “Last updated” date.
