PageTidy Privacy Policy
PageTidy is designed to clean up webpages while collecting as little data as practical. The extension does not sell personal data, does not use browsing activity for advertising, and does not transmit the content of webpages you visit to PageTidy servers.
Data stored in your browser
PageTidy stores extension preferences and cleanup rules in your browser’s extension storage. A saved rule can include the website origin, labels used to help you identify the rule, CSS selectors used to find the element again, whether the rule is enabled, and when the rule was created. This information is used only to provide PageTidy features.
Supported browsers
PageTidy is offered for supported versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Browser APIs and store permission language differ slightly, but PageTidy follows the same local-first privacy model across supported browsers.
Website access
Manual cleaning uses the browser’s temporary active-tab permission after you intentionally invoke PageTidy. If you choose to remember a cleanup, PageTidy requests persistent permission only for that website so it can reapply your saved rule on future visits.
Page content
PageTidy examines webpage structure locally in your browser to identify and hide elements. Page content, page text, browsing history, and the pages you visit are not sent to PageTidy servers as part of normal cleaning.
PageTidy Pro and license validation
If you purchase or activate PageTidy Pro, the extension may store a license key or license token locally and send that license credential to a PageTidy validation endpoint operated by Anson Alexander. The validation service uses it only to determine whether Pro access is active. Page content and browsing history are not included with license-validation requests.
Payments
Payments for PageTidy Pro are processed by Stripe. PageTidy does not receive or store your complete payment-card details. Stripe may process information according to its own privacy policy and legal obligations.
Analytics
PageTidy does not include browsing analytics or behavioral tracking inside the extension at launch. If anonymous product analytics are added later, this policy and the relevant browser-store disclosures will be updated before collection begins.
Data sharing and sale
PageTidy does not sell user data. PageTidy does not transfer user data for advertising, creditworthiness, or purposes unrelated to the extension’s core functionality.
Data deletion
You can delete saved cleanup rules from PageTidy’s Saved Cleanups screen, clear a stored license from the extension’s activation controls, or remove the extension to delete its local extension data from that browser profile.
